Viral hepatitis is a worldwide infection caused by several types of
hepatitis viruses with various prevalence rates in different areas. Some
of them will progress further to chronic infection and finally result in
malignant change (Hepatocellular
carcinoma).
Therefore, the prevention of viral hepatitis is a world-wide task for disease-prevention workers. (By Jau-Shin Wu, M.D.,Ph.D.) |
